Welcome and thank you for visiting our website!
At St Symphorosa School we believe:
All things are possible with God
A Community of kindness, love, and support = success
Our children are stewards of God’s gifts
St. Symphorosa School, the parish school of St. Symphorosa Catholic Church, has been an integral part of the Clearing community since 1928. We provide a rich faith-centered education for grades Preschool-thru 8th grade. At St. Symphorosa, we recognize the importance that the right school can make for a child. While strong academic performance is emphasized, equally valued is the spiritual, social, physical and moral development of each child. We are a family celebrating faith. St. Symphorosa students embrace the values and traditions of our Catholic faith as they pursue academic excellence and prepare for a successful high school experience.
Our teachers, all of whom are state certified and highly educated, utilize a rigorous standards based curriculum. Our website provides an overview of St. Symphorosa School and highlights some of the benefits an education at St. Syms provides students and their families. Great families deserve a great education!
Based on a comparison of 2018 state tests, we are outperforming our local Public Schools- Hale, Dore, and Kinzie. In Reading, 12% more of our students are meeting or exceeding state standards and in Math 33% more students are meeting or exceeding standards. This data is based on an average of the 3 local public school’s Math and Reading scores on the PARCC compared to our ACT Aspire scores.
